What Makes Our Sites Better?

Our sites are unique; they are built for YOUR BUSINESS. No other entity will have a site that looks like yours. Period.

We use premium, tried-and-true WordPress themes. A theme is an add-on piece of software that gives your site a certain look and allows for various structures and design elements. We use only a handful of versatile premium themes that will provide a unique look and feel. There are free themes available, but many are highly corruptible and hackable.

We customize the site using a designer color scheme and typography that fits the purpose of the blog. Professional quality graphics complete the look.

We structure your home page for versatility and content flow. Right out of the box, WordPress posts are listed in chronological order. Sometimes that is perfectly fine, but sometimes it is more organized, and advantageous, to structure the layout according to different categories.

We set up your blog so that the URL (address) for each post contains the category and post title. This will optimize those URLs with relevant keywords for better rankings in the search engines.

We include a curated ping list. Every time a post is published, other blogs and RSS aggregators are notified. This also helps your site to be found.

Our sites have two simultaneous site map options. The first is in the form of a self-updating Site Map page. The second is an XML site map that is sent to Google, Bing, and Yahoo, each time your site is updated. Search engines prefer the XML format, while the site map page is useful to human users.

Premium Plugins are included for help in generating traffic, syndicating to social sites (you need social signals to satisfy the big G), optimizing for SEO, posting Amazon merchandise (if desired), security, and many other functions. We also include some free plugins that are indispensable and convenient.

If you like we can add the option of using web chiclets for social bookmarking and sharing. Social signals are necessary for good search engine rankings.

Our sites are responsive. Responsive design is the latest method for creating web sites that function predictably across all devices. Some of the newer Web browsers can really make a mess of some of the old web site formatting. Our sites look good on the desktop, as well as on smart phones and tablets. And, responsive layouts are something that Google looks for now.

One more thing. Your site will not take months to build, as is sometimes the case with traditional web design projects.

Why Not Just BUY a Niche Site?

There are many available, but let’s look at some of the shortcomings. We have owned all of these types of sites (below), but we came up with a much better idea, and no one is doing this! Why not? It may just boil down to design capabilities. Most of the people building these sites cannot write a line of code, they have no design sense, and the typography in the header graphics is inappropriate and ineffectual.

PLR Niche Sites

You can buy private label rights (PLR) niche sites, but be aware that these sites are sold to many others. Often these sites are sold over and over until 25, 50, 75, or even 100 licenses are sold. Some have NO limit to the number that will be sold. That is how many other parties may have the same web site as YOU! And, these other parties may have similar domains for those sites as well. (I purchased a niche site about Model Trains once. Someone else bought the same PLR site and their domain was one letter different from my domain. It was the difference of a word being plural or singular, so it was very easy to end up on the other person’s site.) To purchase a ready-made site that is available to other buyers, one would have to make sweeping changes to make the site unique, in order to realize any success with it. How much is your time worth?

And don’t think making the site unique will necessarily be easy, as often times the buyer (you) is not given the same privileges as the site builder. Some things on the sidebar, appearing in posts, etc., may not be easy to change or even delete. Know a little HTML? CSS? PHP? You’ll need it.

Many of these PLR sites have been around for a while and are not responsive. These sites sell for anywhere from $17 to over $100. On the low end, you may get what you pay for. On the high end, you will not.

Unique Niche Sites are Better, but…

Purchasing a unique site (which usually comes with its own domain) IS better, but be mindful of what you are actually buying. Sure, they look good sometimes, but they’re not sustainable. Often these sites are built around researched keyword phrases, but that information can change daily. These unique niche sites are predicated on a very tight keyword phrase, which means there is little room for expansion. In addition, you need a very delicate balance of keyword density just to keep the site indexed. That is, indexed in Google. That’s right. These sites, because of their very nature, are prone to being de-indexed by Google.

It must also be pointed out that there are a lot of unique Amazon sites being sold that have very little viable funtionality. Many of these sites are built with a software program that creates simple themes. Don’t get me wrong, that can be a great way to build your own themes, but just know that the themes are very limited and it can be difficult to make use of more advanced building features. You could make some of the posts sticky, that is, make them stay on the home page, but then you sacrifice the content freshness that Google is looking for, not to mention home page real estate.

If you are looking for an Amazon niche site, Amazon posts alone will not make a site successful. Article content is needed as well; unique article content. But these sites offer no way to organize your home page. Posts are chronological. That’s it. The home page will have a succession akin to product, product, article, article, product, product, product, article, product, article, article, article, etc. What a confusing mess for the user!

Another problem with these pre-fab sites is that they are very narrow. If you are a marketer, this can be a problem, as the sidebar does not accommodate standard ad sizes, even within a simple two-column layout. The navigation is limited too, which makes it very hard to expand your site. Add too many pages or categories, and the navigation area starts to break apart. These unique Amazon niche sites are definitely not a scalable solution.

These sites are also not responsive. The theme builders that created them seem to have more problems on mobile devices, too. (70% of my Amazon sales were made on mobile devices, so don’t count mobile shoppers out. Mobile devices are often used for shopping.)

These inferior niche sites will run you $100 to $200. Sometimes they are marked down, but that’s because no one else wanted them. You might be well-advised to figure out why.

Niche Stores

There is a third type of niche site available, and that is the Niche Store. Usually these are centered around a general group of products like pet supplies or photography equipment, and come fully stocked with hundreds or even thousands of products. Trouble is, these sites sit around for so long, many of the products are no longer available. Dead end links, which are bad for your search engine rankings. These sites often sell for under $50, but how much time to do want to spend checking links and replacing them?

All of these ready-made sites are MADE TO SELL, and sell to people without much experience. We have owned all of these types of sites, suffered through an intense learning curve, and in the end, we came up with a much better idea. And no one is doing this! We are offering a chance to work with a real designer to get an editable web site for a fraction of what it would cost to have a traditional web site built. Please see our Price List and have a professional site designed for your business.
